Fitment & Compatibility

Will KUTNEX terminals fit my battery?

They fit standard tapered top-post batteries using SAE, DIN or EN post sizes — the most common type on cars, trucks, RVs and motorcycles. They do not fit JIS "pencil post" thin posts, so check your post type before ordering.

Do these fit top-post or side-post batteries?

The connector and clamp sets are designed for tapered top-post batteries. If you have a side-post or threaded-stud battery, choose the Modular Heavy-Duty terminal with interchangeable heads, which adapts to all three styles.

What is a "tapered top post" and how do I know if I have one?

A tapered top post is the round lead post that rises from the top of most automotive batteries, slightly wider at the base than the tip. If your battery has two round posts on top — a larger positive and a smaller negative — you have tapered top posts.

Are these compatible with SAE, DIN and EN battery posts?

Yes. KUTNEX top-post terminals fit all three common standards: SAE (American), DIN (European) and EN posts. JIS pencil posts are the one exception and are not supported.

Do these work with AGM, GEL and other battery types?

Yes. They suit lead-acid AGM, GEL, WET, MF and CA/CA batteries. What matters for fitment is the post type — a tapered top post — not the battery's internal chemistry.

Do the connector sets include the OEM top-post adapter?

Yes — the 4-way, 6-way and 8-way connector sets include an OEM top-post adapter so they drop straight onto factory posts.

What are the interchangeable heads for?

The interchangeable heads let one terminal adapt to different battery post styles and stud sizes — so the same terminal works across top-post, side-post and threaded-stud batteries.

What stud sizes do the interchangeable heads cover?

The heads cover M4 through M10, plus 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threaded sizes — the common stud sizes used across automotive and marine batteries.

Can the modular terminal fit side-post batteries?

Yes — that is its main advantage. With the correct head fitted it works on threaded-stud, top-post and side-post batteries.

Coming: Battery Terminal Fitment & Torque Guide

Post identification chart, the four measurements to take in your own engine bay, torque table, and a print-to-scale paper template you can hold against your battery before you order. Body dimensions are already published in the dimension table.

We are still measuring — every dimension in the guide is taken off the actual product rather than a drawing, and we would rather publish it late than publish a number we have not verified. There is no signup form here yet because we have nothing to send you yet. When the guide is ready this box becomes the place to get it.
